Major Russian Assaults Cut Power Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
The country's energy systems have come under escalating strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused blackouts in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were wounded while local people in the city's east were experienced blackouts and dealt with interruptions to water supplies, as stated by city officials.

At the same time, a young boy was lost their life in a distinct Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, as reported by area administrators.

Moscow has intensified assaults on power infrastructure over the past few days, while the country's government has called for "real steps" from partner nations to increase pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the United States, Europe and the G7 - in delivering defensive weapons and enforcing sanctions," he wrote in a social media post.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 rockets targeted energy facilities, characterizing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were striving to repair systems.

A wave of strikes struck electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the strikes on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the urban area came under heavy assaults throughout the evening. A minor was killed and three other people were injured.

The assaults come after nights of bombing campaigns in the region, sections of which are occupied by invading troops.

All of Ukraine is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to detect.

National leaders told journalists that Russia was deliberately attempting to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and authorities were preparing for additional strikes.
